TAX RELIEF EXTENSION, UNEMPLOYMENT EXTENTIONS, LOWER, MIDDLE & UPPER CLASSES

Bookmark and Share

We can speculate all we want as to how we got ourselves into this mess, when it happened and who is most responsible. We don’t think there is a single blameless person in this country any more than we believe anyone should serve as the sole scapegoat for our current predicament.  Most of us are not well informed about who is running for a particular office, their history, or platform.  We can blame it on time limitations, the media and so many obstacles that get between us and who we have placed in office since the establishment of the U.S.A.

Everyone knows by now that the extension on tax cuts is in place as of December 17th, 2010 and it will last for two years. What happens at the end of two years? Will there be an attempt to overcompensate for this “free ride” we are benefiting from today? Could it mean a 50% tax in the future or something close to it? It could and these are things we all need to watch for and pay close attention to as we listen and read between the lines of what politicians, incumbents and candidates are claiming and alleging in future campaigns. In the meantime we urge everyone, employers, individuals and families alike to “clock” their two year time period and fully comprehend that you must spend to help the economy but to definitely be mindful of stashing a portion of your earnings. At the end of two years none of us know how much will be taken back. Invest wisely and secure as much of your wealth as is plausible. Advisers recommend shielding ourselves from future taxation in 2013 safely, legally and moderately. Many experts don’t recommend hoarding because that is what has caused the economy to stifle itself over the last few years, but be wise about all your decisions and seek the expert financial advice you need.

The estate tax reform for farmers and ranchers is a definite benefit to the families  and business structures in the agricultural industry. It provides much needed relief in the often forgotten areas of America, which is the rural areas. The American Farm Bureau Federation has offered its congratulations to President Obama and congress for their committment to this highly valued and necessary community.

John Boehner is expected to take the Speaker of the House position in January, 2011.

WHAT’S IN THIS NEW TAX BILL?  (H.R. 4853)

  • As stated before, Americans of all classes will receive a continued tax cut for an additional two years
  • The qualified unemployed will receive a one year extension of the filing deadline for Federal Unemployment Insurance
  • The estimated cost of the bill is $858 billion dollars
  • Social Security beneficiaries will receive a one year reduction in taxes
  • There will be a 2 year reduction in estate taxes at 35% with the first $5 million dollars qualifiying for 100% expemption
  • $55 billion in tax cuts for the special interest groups
  • The 99′ers (those who have received unemployment benefits for 99 weeks) were not even a consideration in this tax bill

*Youth unemployment is at 18% and climbing.

*There are five applicants for every job opening (proof that joblessness is not increased or prolonged by unemployment benefits).

*It is a myth that the unemployed are lazy and slothful. Again we remind everyone that these unemployed people were getting up and going to work every day before they were told they were no longer welcomed at the workplace. These people didn’t just suddenly stop going to work. They were forced to leave. They were asked to leave. They were told to leave.

*What does and has caused continued joblessness for the 99′ers?  Some say it was the free trade act which facilitated and encouraged outsourcing  along with budget policies.

Have the very things put in place to help businesses, actually hurt them to the point they had no choice but to institute layoffs or  restructuring world wide in order to preserve the company?

GOP TAKES THE HOUSE – OTHER RESULTS IN THE STATES

Bookmark and Share

Dear Politicians,

We ask that you uphold your promises. Stay true to your word and CONGRATULATIONS to all those who have won their office and/or seat. Every last one of you remain in our prayers. We are counting on you to leave your egos in the dresser drawer and come to work every day with the American people in mind. Who are we? We are the poor, middle class, upper class, employed and unemployed, male and female, black, brown, yellow, red and white, young, old, & middle aged, physically challenged & mentally challenged, Christians & non-Christians, liberals & conservatives, Republicans and Democrats,  and everyone else in between.

The GOP takes the majority in the House of Representatives.  The Senate majority remains with the Democrats, but it appears they’ve lost six seats. This has been the change the GOP has been talking about and hoping for early on in President Obama’s term. We hope everyone is able to work together and recognize and acknowledge the seriousness of our country’s dilemma. We can’t afford to squander any time as people continue to lose their jobs, lose unemployment compensation, lose their homes and nearly everything that makes Americans feel safe and warm. This country must stop with blaming one leader over another or one party over another and simply pull together and get the job done.

There have been a lot of turn overs in this race and many Americans welcome the change and the balance that has been brought to Washington D.C..  This was a mid-term election and Republicans showed up and showed out in large numbers as if it was a general election. This is how Americans can be inspired and this is how Americans should be inspired in all camps, from all walks of life and from all parties.

What is the plan now? The GOP has made it very clear in their speeches that they want taxes reduced and jobs generated. They also expect small businesses to start hiring again. We have also heard  the GOP will do what it can to put a stop to health care reform as President Obama has presented it to date. The people of America had the opportunity to speak today and they have done so in large numbers.  Whether you are for or against these most recent changes, we should give every politician the opportunity and respect to do his or her job effectively.

Another common issue in speeches we heard through the evening and early morning is that no bill will be passed without it being read first. Of course the focus of this statement is the Health Care Reform bill. It has always been a source of contention for voters when we hear or see how bills are really passed. Its been reported that very few bills are read through from beginning to end because of their volume, complexity & time constraints. This is not an isolated issue with the Health Care Reform bill.  Holding our politicians accountable regardless of party lines is the key. Follow their voting records and attendance records. Compare their voting records with the promises that lined their campaign speeches. Make no exceptions and remain objective in your assessments. Any one of us can promise anybody anything at any given time. The test of character is delivering on those promises.

There’s been a shift in everything from the gubernatorial races to the House races and even turnover in the Senate even if the majority remains with the Democrats.  We invite all of you to check out who won which race and in which state by clicking on the attached link for PROJECT VOTE SMART

SOCIAL SECURITY RULING EFFECTS 58 MILLION AMERICANS

Bookmark and Share

Although we are in the business of identifying and locating high qualitytalent for employers across the nation, we understand the reality of near or distant future retirement for many of the people we have placed in viable job positions over the years. For this reason we are drawing our valued readers’ attention to the latest news in Social Security. Given the recession and stats on unemployment, it will come as no surprise to many of you that there will be no increase in Social Security benefits for the year 2011.  They claim it is based on the fact that inflation is too low.  Doesn’t it make more sense that regardless of inflation, we are in the midst of just barely treading water as a nation because of the recession? We are sorry to report this news for the numerous retirees and disabled Americans across this country.

When you consider that so many of the elderly are barely able to afford their medication on the fixed income they currently have and to think it has been this way for them for years, it seems there is little relief for their wallets and feeling secure through their twilight years. Just as all of us know someone who knows someone who is unemployed, facing foreclosure or bankruptcy now we can all say the same is true of the 58 million Americans who are affected by this Social Security ruling. This is the second consecutive year that seniors and others  won’t see an increase in Social Security benefits.

How will this effect the elections? It can’t help the Democrats and President Obama when it comes to the senior and disabled vote. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi mentioned that only after the elections will the House and Senate vote on a bill that would pay all Social Security payees $250.00. The bill is likely to be rejected by the majority of Republicans and several Democrats if and when it reaches the Senate floor.  This is the same proposed bill which was rejected last year around this time.  It may not matter to many senior and disabled voters WHO is opposing the bill as much as it will be yet another poor reflection on President Obama and his administration whether justified or not.  Some argue that it is President Obama’s duty to successfully woo, court and convince Republicans and opposing Democrats to sign such a bill. Gas prices have certainly climbed in the last few weeks along with a host of other retail items and this seems to have little bearing on overall inflation when it is measured against the housing market and other industry statistics.

PLAN YOUR SCHEDULE NOW SO YOU DON’T FORGET TO VOTE NOVEMBER 2ND, 2010 NO MATTER YOUR PARTY AFFILIATION OR LACK THEREOF WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO EXERCISE YOUR VOICE THROUGH VOTING SO WE DON’T LOSE THIS PRECIOUS AND DELICATE RIGHT.   WE STRIVE TO SUPPORT OUR CURRENT AND FUTURE LEADERS.

Our first political party blog was on the Tea Party then we addressed the Republicans and the difference between Independents and the Independence Party. Best Services presents this information in a non-partisan manner while we seek viable solutions to the economic & unemployment crisis. We do however encourage everyone to register to vote even if you do not believe your vote is getting you what you want.

Keep in mind voting is not always about getting WHAT YOU WANT.  Voting tends to encompass a much stronger voice in that the act itself allows us to keep the rights we currently have. These are rights so many of us take for granted.  Your vote does more for this country than you may ever realize. Remember it is not just about the very issue or individual you are voting on. Look beyond yourself & at the bigger picture. Please register to vote & then exercise your right to vote. Many Americans died for us to have this luxury.

“Democratic Party, USA The oldest democratic political party in the world. Known in the 1790s as the Democratic-Republican Party, Democrats split in 1860 over the questions of slavery and the US Civil War. It reunited after the Civil War, gaining support from the ever-expanding west and from the immigrant working classes of the industrialized north-east, while retaining the loyalty of the deep south. In the early twentieth century the party adopted many of the policies of the Progressive movement and its candidate for President, Woodrow Wilson, was elected in 1912. Although in eclipse during the 1920s, it re-emerged in the years of the Great Depression, with policies to end unemploymentand stimulate industry. It captured both Congress and the Presidency, with Franklin D. Roosevelt the only President to have been elected four times. Since then the Democratic Party has tended to dominate the House of Representatives and has generally held the Senate as well, supporting civil rights, social welfare, and Third World aid.

Following the civil rights movement and desegregation in the 1950s and 1960s, the Democratic Party lost much of its support from the Dixiecrat southern states…”  http://www.encyclopedia.com/doc/1O46-DemocraticPartyUSA.html

“dem·o·crat (dm-krt)   n. 1. a. An advocate of democracy.   b. One who believes in social equality or discounts distinctions in rank.2. Democrat A member of the Democratic Party…”

“The Democratic Party is one of two major contemporary political parties in the United States, along with the Republican Party. The party’s modern liberal platform is largely considered center-left in the U.S. political spectrum.[5][6][7] It is one of the world’s oldest political parties and boasts the lengthiest record of continuous operation in the United States. The party contains the most registered voters of any political organization in the world as of 2004, with 72 million voters.[8][9] Polls taken over the last decade indicate that roughly 35% of American voters self identify as Democrats.[10]

Since the 2006 general elections, the Democratic Party has been the majority party in both the House of Representatives and the United States Senate. Democrats also hold a majority of state governorships and control a majority of state legislatures. Barack Obama, the current President of the United States, is the 15th Democrat to hold the office…

…Historically, the party has favored farmers, laborers, labor unions, and religious and ethnic minorities; it has opposed unregulated business and finance, and favored progressive income taxes. In foreign policy, internationalism (including interventionism) was a dominant theme from 1913 to the mid-1960s. In the 1930s, the party began advocating welfare spending programs targeted at the poor…” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democratic_Party_(United_States)

JOIN OUR DISCUSSION ~ Comments

What kind of real change can America expect after the mid-term elections? Everyone who is unhappy assumes that all Americans are unhappy with the state of affairs in Washington D.C.. There is a percentage of Americans who believe President Obama is doing a good job given what some describe as an impossible set of obstacles and challenges. No matter which category you fall into there are likely to be changes on many fronts and not all those changes are positive changes for Republicans depending on which state you reside in.

DELAWARE’s Christine O’Donnell won the candidacy for the Republican Senate seat against a republican candidate who was being backed by the GOP. Christine had the support of the Tea Party. Mike Castle, her opponent, was expected to win this primary race as he has been a long time Congressman. Is Christie O. good or bad for America? It depends on your perspective.  She has a history of questionable financial problems including alleged tuition liens, alleged foreclosure of her home (approximately $90,000) and there is a question as to when she received her diploma from college and if the delay was based on incomplete courses or tuition liens. Some might say she is unfit to represent America. Others say these allegations are unfounded. There is a third perspective which claims America needs someone as “real” and down to earth as Christie O, because eight million people are facing the same types of issues. These eight million people effect at least two other people in their lives, which increases the number of adversely effected people to at least twenty four million Americans. This figure doesn’t include children or that sector of America that was living below or near the poverty line prior to the recession. Of course people who are facing foreclosure and financial strife are not going to be willing to judge a candidate like Christie O. harshly. If anything, they will breathe a sigh of relief that someone finally represents them.  The other side of the coin alleges that Christie ran for office just so she could be supported by campaign funds. She ran for senate twice before and lost.  Even if Christie O. is misspending money, is there any political candidate who has revealed how their campaign money was spent? Is this something that should be implemented? What will Christie O. do for jobs, unemployment  and our overall economic status if she wins the November mid-term election for Senator? Mike Castle was a moderate Republican. Given that there are 292,738 Democrats in Delaware versus 182, 796 Republicans, Christie O. will have a tougher battle than Castle against Democrat, Chris Coons. The GOP fears a loss and therefore has less of an opportunity to seal their victory in the Senate since they need ten seats.  How will a party that slung accusations at her now show their support in a way that the public will view it as genuine?  What will she do for jobs, unemployment rates and the economy? We’ve heard more about her views on pornography and sex than any of the issues that are at the forefront of Americans’ minds.

FLORIDA:There is some turmoil down in Florida too with regard to the Gubernatorial race. Charlie Crist holds the position of Governor after Jeb Bush’s reign for two terms. Crist came in as a Republican.  He is switching to a nonpartisan candidate for the U.S. Senate.

NEW YORK: Carl Paladino upset Rick Lazio in the Republican primaries for the New York Governor’s race (62%).  Paladino was backed by the Tea Party as well. The shock is in the percentage by which he won.

BLOGGING BY BEST SERVICES ONLINE, OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL BLOGS, WILL DEDICATE ITS BLOGS TO THE UPCOMING ELECTIONS ON 11-02-10.

As we write blogs about unemployment and jobs, since we are in fact recruiters, we realize that many of our readers, clients and candidates have great interest in the political influence over jobs, unemployment and their bank accounts. Employers and candidates have been hit heavily, which is why we are facing eight million lost jobs. These aren’t just lost for a year. This has been going on since 2007 with no real improvement in sight. This is the third year.

President Bush and/or President Obama may have prevented a sixteen million job loss event. We will never know one way or the other so all we can do is focus on what we do know and that is that the market is moving but for those out of work it is stagnant because is it not moving quickly enough. Every blog and every other source of media is addressing the “changing of the guard” from a democratic rule to a republican rule that will likely take place after the mid-term elections of November 2010. How many of us made it out to the polls over the last several months to cast our primary ballots? We know we walked in and walked out with no lines at prime times for voting as opposed to the massive lines that formed when the presidential race between Senator McCain and Senator Obama was at stake. Everyone had hopes and dreams for something better and something different. We do it at every major election whenever we are facing less than favorable times. We keep hoping that someone, some administration, some magical combination of congressional members and Supreme Court Justices will pleasantly surprise the people of America. When will we learn?

We didn’t get what we wished for and every one and their mother has the perfect response as to why it didn’t happen. So we look onward to these Mid-Term Elections, because without the hope of something more, we are facing the same limited growth we have been facing since President Bush was in office. We’ve said it countless times before. It is unfair and unjust to blame President Bush or any other president because the way the economy operates and feeds off of countless variables, the failure of the economy could have started during any one of the last five administrations.  We must simply look for solutions and allow the elected politicians who we like or don’t like to accomplish the tasks at hand. This goes for democrats, republicans and everyone in between. If republicans gain the majority, then lets show our support and stay on them through continual phone calls to your state representatives to make certain they know they are accountable to you and me.

Lets make certain no matter who is in the White House, Senate and House of Representatives that we hold them accountable for working together haromoniously and nothing less is acceptable. WE EXPECT RESULTS. We must remain active at our local, state and federal levels. Regular phone calls have to be made to our representatives or emails and letters need to be sent. Keep it professional and respectful of course, but get your message out there over and over again. Our duties don’t stop at the voting booth, for those of us who take it that far.

Our duties never stop. Every last one of us is on notice that in politics a lot of unfair and unjust things take place. We no longer have the right to pretend we are shocked or surprised. The shock part should be over by now. What will you do to reduce or prevent the lack of productivity, bureaucracy, inner social politics, bad influences, anit-proactive behavior and anti-progressiveness throughout all levels of government? No matter who is elected to office, they all become susceptible to the political traps so we must work on supporting our politicians to rise above and stay above those negative influences. They must be made aware they are accountable to the people. Every media source will continue playing on the vulnerabilities & emotions of America. We fall for it every time. Opinions are fine, but how do you move people from the inside-out to better their circumstances and predicaments? How do we improve our current state now that we have identified our dissatisfaction with the lack of jobs and economic growth?

EASY FIX TO UNEMPLOYMENT AND THE ECONOMY?

ONCE AGAIN WE STRESS THAT ALL COMMENTS REMAIN ON SUBJECT AS WE HAVE SEEN A WHIRL WIND OF COMMENTS GOING OFF THE BEATEN PATH IN EARLIER BLOG ARTICLES AND FOR THIS REASON WE HAVE DEVELOPED THIS BLOG SO PEOPLE CAN EXPRESS THEMSELVES OPENLY AND RESPECTFULLY UNDER THIS BLOG.

We have listened to dozens of financial analysts and economists speak on the subject of our economy for hundreds of years. Recently we have paid a lot more attention to what they have to say because the U.S.A. is suffering the economic blows along with the rest of the world. Many of these analysts are well educated, they have their PhD’s and are experienced.

WHY CAN’T THEY AGREE ON WHAT TO DO?    WHY CAN’T THEY AGREE ON HOW TO DO IT?    WHY CAN’T THEY AGREE ON WHAT TO DO FIRST?

We understand why the general members of society can’t come to an agreement on how to proceed with the repairs of our dilemma, but then again we are cast into the fires of ignorance through limited information and limited access to national and global statistics and variables which would assist us greatly in forming our views. We can’t understand how so many experts in the field of economics and finance have such drastically different views about the state of our economy.

WOULD ANY METHODOLOGY OR PLAN HAVE FAILED OR BEEN SLOW TO SHOW RESULTS?

We will never know because we only have one model to work from and that is the model formed and implemented by the current administration. We do know that based on news coverage of every analyst proposing something different that it seems likely that no one repair and maintenance plan would have produced drastically different results than what we see today. However, we stress there is no way to really know this because we are not in a laboratory which affords us test subjects with multiple variables and outcomes.

It still comes back to America’s expectation of demanding that a person or group of people perform their job duties adequately and sufficiently because the application and acceptance of the job is voluntary. When we fail to see results, we are entitled to gripe and complain.

HERE ARE SOME OF THE ARGUMENTS & DISCUSSIONS WE HEARD FROM FAMILY, FRIENDS, ASSOCIATES, ETC.

No economic plan would have yielded different results than what we are seeing today. There isn’t a president out there would could have fixed this problem without taxing us more. Even when we aren’t in this predicament, presidents tend to increase taxes in some sector some where.

The fix is easy, money should have been pumped into small business from the start and not the big companies that President Bush loaned money to. It is proven that small businesses generate more jobs and hire more people than large business.

If President Bush did not loan eighty five billion dollars to the big guys, the entire economy would have collapsed in ways we can’t imagine because these large companies have their hands in everything from law to insurance to banking to manufacturing and so on. President Obama was forced to follow suit for the same reasons.

There is no possible way you can prepare for the job of President of the United States. It is an on-the-job training job that is full of hundreds of thousands of surprises than what you anticipated so that anything you initially planned to do becomes moot. To the public it seems like you have lied, but in reality you have been exposed to unforeseen data and information which forces a change in plans.

Since we now know that President Bush borrowed $2.5 trillion dollars from China, what great or not-so-great man, woman or administration can manage that type of debt in an already sunken economy? Its like taking over a company or firm and their books show a profit of ten million dollars in a good year but they have fallen to five million a year. Your plan is to get them back up to ten million a year and more, but they conveniently neglect to inform you that they borrowed one hundred million dollars from a bank and have not begun paying it back yet. The company you THOUGHT you  bought, you don’t even own and can’t begin to own until you pay back the one hundred million dollars. Your employees are looking at you in amazement that you haven’t magically made everything right over night.

There are no excuses for failure. Get it right and if you can’t get it right, then leave office and let someone else have a shot at it and if they can’t get it right, they too should leave until we find someone who knows what they are doing. This would eventually force the type of thinking we want in the White House as opposed to what has been in the White House for the last thirty or forty years. After five or six presidents step down for failure to produce via their performance evaluation with a one or two year period, you would see a quick change from special interest groups being stroked to men and women shifting their emphasis to making independent decisions uninfluenced by lobbyists, special interests, and campaign funders.  The same would have to hold true for House of Reps, Senators & Supreme Court Justices where we have access to their attendance, voting records and spending records( expense accounts). We should have put this into practice decades ago. The problem is we can’t even agree on who we think has done right by us and who hasn’t. The person next in line would be their opponent who had the largest number of votes next to them (despite the party) and if that second person failed, then the person with the third highest votes would take the second person’s place and so on. This would also bring a halt to bipartisan head games because a senator who refuses everything suggested by a president of the opposing party would also face expulsion for failure to produce results and the public would be able to see those childish antics because their records would be exposed. It would force Republicans and Democrats and all others to work together for fear of their opponent taking their spot.

The blame is on the person and the administration hired to do the job and no other explanation or support is needed for that statement. The simplest form of clean up is a maid who is hired to clean up after a party. She did not throw the party. She did not attend the party. She did not create the mess and she may not have known how bad it was until she got there. No matter what, she won’t get paid if she fails to “clean house”. She has to figure out a way to clean up this awful mess left by others. Certainly the economy and unemployment is a lot more complicated but the expectation is the same. This is not a volunteer job. One does receive a salary, an expense account, and a life long eye catching resume which will launch a former president and vice president into just about any area they desire. You can head up a church, build homes for the poor, serve on boards, or enter the live speaker circuit. Either way you are set for life even if you were an unpopular politician so American citizens have every right to demand favorable results because presidents represent ALL of us, not just the people with the big bucks, power & influence. Most of us will never reach the earning power a president has. people laugh at the president’s salary, but you know what most people don’t earn that much. In addition you can probably triple or quadruple the salary based on the perks, wardrobe, grooming, presidential fleet of cars, planes, hotels stays and expense accounts.

The list of different view points is endless and we believe each one has a great deal of rational and logical thought behind it. What do you think? Join our discussion.

AMERICA’S PASSION, OBAMA VACATION, U.S.A. ECONOMIC STATUS

Bookmark and Share

There is a lot of buzz about the First Lady, Michelle Obama, taking a vacation to Spain. Everyone has heard every comment that could possibly be made about the matter from good to bad to indifferent. Many argue it was her own money so she can do what she wants. Others say that secret service still cost a pretty penny, not to mention the cost of Air Force One. We also heard arguments that no other First Lady’s travel plans have been scrutinized to this degree & the retort is to continue to do wrong things can’t be justified by past behavior of prior First Ladies. Everyone presents a good argument. What we find so fascinating is the degree of passion that fuels these statements from all sides of the table through the major Internet social networks.

People are angry, defensive &  frustrated. It doesn’t seem to matter if they are for or against President Obama. There is just a lot of anger in the air. We witnessed an entire trail of commentary about this subject and when it was all said and done, it left a massive pocket of emptiness. People shared their opinions & in the end things remained the same. Our favor is with the re-ignition of the economy, building bridges between vast differences, & solving problems.  Everyone agrees our issues MUST be resolved.

It’s become increasingly difficult for people to maintain focus in a proactive & progressive manner when the political, economical & social climates have been so drastically polarized. We believe in being passionate. The difficulty is balancing passion against deconstructive behavior & thought.

One thing all Americans should keep in mind is that we are all full of an equal amount of fire & fury. How we convey that fire & fury is a testament to our maturity, understanding & acceptance of each other.  This country was not built by a group of laid back impassioned people. Instead it was built & established by overly aggressive & passionate risk takers who were successful in their insurmountable attempts at reaching their goals. Admittedly those characteristics worked in their favor during the construction of this current nation. That passion must be  harnessed properly & we should look to them as an example of what we are truly capable of as a nation.

It doesn’t take but fifteen seconds to become entrenched in a boiling argument with a total stranger over a subject that’s near & dear to our hearts. We are being pushed further apart than we’ve been in a long time. Is there anyone at the controls, at the helm of all of this? Is there a benefit to keeping us so incredibly polarized and literally despising one another based on bipartisanship while our economy fails to receive the nourishment it so desperately needs?

How can we merge our efforts & dampen our conflicting views to serve a greater cause? What group or organization can we turn to to assure that their personal agenda does not override the greater goal of the members who support it? Can anyone be trusted anymore? How do we take this terrific energy, a ball of pure heart-felt passion from all the varying view points & redirect it so that it is a positive force that cannot be challenged by anyone?

It seems the American people lost trust in the system. Certain sectors of the population feel completely alienated when one group tries to rally people around it. Many are jilted and fearful  of potential underlying motives & subtle personal agendas of various groups based on experience.

Every American pretty much agrees the country can benefit from generating new long term permanent jobs. That’s the easy part. Now how do we create these jobs? What sectors would generate the most jobs with the most diversity in skill level and pay scale? Its confusing. We’ll say it again. At the end of the day, we want the same basic things. Let none of us lose sight of this. We can’t allow division by the media or any other sources. We can’t afford it.

Don’t we owe the founders our thanks by honoring them for their blood, sweat & tears? We should be honoring everyone who played a part, willingly or unwillingly, in the establishment of this nation.

How would any of them react to what is taking place today between us? We suspect they may acknowledge that they too had blatant irreconcilable differences, but never once did these differences stand in their way of their common bond of wanting to prosper.

Recently we heard a gentleman’s observation about Christians. Over the years he noticed  in newly formed Christian bonds that many Christians are driven to identify where they differ in their interpretation of various parts of Christianity. He strongly advised a change in people’s approach to one another. Instead the two should be celebrating their likenesses. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out this advice can be applied to any faith, culture, political arena, economic status, etc. It applies to every one.

Find the commonality & revel in that before walking down a path of destruction, because there is plenty of time for that once your bond is strong enough to handle it. Build a solid foundation first. Only your family will accept you for everything you are and are not (and there is no guarantee of this) because of the solid foundation.

Our founders could not have accomplished anything if all of their disagreements led with the interjection of hostility, sarcasm & innuendos.

U.S. TROOPS COMING HOME? IRAQ WAR VS AFGHANISTAN WAR

Bookmark and Share

42% of Americans said the war was worth fighting.

55% of Americans said it was not worth fighting the Iraq War.

Certainly everyone has heard by now that President Obama is working to bring an end to the Iraq War by sending approximately 90,000 troops home. HOWEVER many journalist argue there is merely a shift of troops from Iraq to Afghanistan. It may or may not be the same troops in some cases. Below is a chart of numbers which reveals an overall relief for troops in the range of 30,000 after calculating the Afghan shift. This chart should help you see what so many articles will speak about, but we are not certain how simple it will be to decipher as we believe it is as shown below.  These figures are comprised of numbers released by the White House and other sources.

January 2009:           144,000 troops in Iraq                   33,000 troops in Afghanistan            TOTAL = 177,000

July 2010:                    81,000 troops in Iraq                   87,000 troops in Afghanistan            TOTAL = 169,000

September 2010:        50,000 troops in Iraq                    96,000 troops in Afghanistan           TOTAL = 146,000

These do not reflect the number of troops who are deployed throughout the world in support of either the Iraq or Afghanistan wars, but are stationed in neighboring countries or in nations which have some political association, serve as a potential threat &/or are threatened by the forces America is fighting.

The 50,000 remaining troops in Iraq are intended to be more peace keeping-training for Iraqis-protect US civilians-overseeing equipment transfers & more. Needless to say counterterrorism is a given on this list too. By the end of next year all American troops are suppose to be completely out of Iraq per a previous agreement between former President Bush & the Iraqis.

The deadline to begin remove troops from Iraq was mentioned as August 31, 2010 early on in this recent presidency.  As U.S. controlled bases lose their U.S. troops, Iraqi troops are expected to assume control and begin rebuilding their social, political and economic structures.

Back in February of 2008 the 48% of Americans believed that pulling out of Iraq would drastically effect the U.S. economy for the better. 20% are have said to believe it would help to some degree. 43 % said increased spending on health care, education, & housing programs would benefit the economy considerably.  36% werein favor of cutting taxes in order to improve the economy.

Wars no longer produce jobs the way they use to because our technology is different and we have grown accustomed to & overly dependent upon outsourcing. As a result the average American is no longer able to see the benefit or actually benefit economically from wars as it stands now.

Cost of war in Iraq has been estimated at $2billion per week as far back as 2008 and 2006. It is said we have spent $1.25trillion dollars since the start of the war. This does not include figures for Afghanistan. Keep in mind the war grows more costly as time goes on and this does not even address the cost of life which is impossible to place a number on the life of a loved one.  As of 2010 it is expected that we will have spent a total of $3.2trillion total for both Iraq and Afghanistan. We wanted to post death tolls, but we can’t seem to confirm conclusive and accurate figures as the U.S. & Iraq are in disagreement about July 2010′s calculations from Iraq about their death toll.
