We have listened to dozens of financial analysts and economists speak on the subject of our economy for hundreds of years. Recently we have paid a lot more attention to what they have to say because the U.S.A. is suffering the economic blows along with the rest of the world. Many of these analysts are well educated, they have their PhD’s and are experienced.
WHY CAN’T THEY AGREE ON WHAT TO DO? WHY CAN’T THEY AGREE ON HOW TO DO IT? WHY CAN’T THEY AGREE ON WHAT TO DO FIRST?
We understand why the general members of society can’t come to an agreement on how to proceed with the repairs of our dilemma, but then again we are cast into the fires of ignorance through limited information and limited access to national and global statistics and variables which would assist us greatly in forming our views. We can’t understand how so many experts in the field of economics and finance have such drastically different views about the state of our economy.
WOULD ANY METHODOLOGY OR PLAN HAVE FAILED OR BEEN SLOW TO SHOW RESULTS?
We will never know because we only have one model to work from and that is the model formed and implemented by the current administration. We do know that based on news coverage of every analyst proposing something different that it seems likely that no one repair and maintenance plan would have produced drastically different results than what we see today. However, we stress there is no way to really know this because we are not in a laboratory which affords us test subjects with multiple variables and outcomes.
It still comes back to America’s expectation of demanding that a person or group of people perform their job duties adequately and sufficiently because the application and acceptance of the job is voluntary. When we fail to see results, we are entitled to gripe and complain.
HERE ARE SOME OF THE ARGUMENTS & DISCUSSIONS WE HEARD FROM FAMILY, FRIENDS, ASSOCIATES, ETC.
No economic plan would have yielded different results than what we are seeing today. There isn’t a president out there would could have fixed this problem without taxing us more. Even when we aren’t in this predicament, presidents tend to increase taxes in some sector some where.
The fix is easy, money should have been pumped into small business from the start and not the big companies that President Bush loaned money to. It is proven that small businesses generate more jobs and hire more people than large business.
If President Bush did not loan eighty five billion dollars to the big guys, the entire economy would have collapsed in ways we can’t imagine because these large companies have their hands in everything from law to insurance to banking to manufacturing and so on. President Obama was forced to follow suit for the same reasons.
There is no possible way you can prepare for the job of President of the United States. It is an on-the-job training job that is full of hundreds of thousands of surprises than what you anticipated so that anything you initially planned to do becomes moot. To the public it seems like you have lied, but in reality you have been exposed to unforeseen data and information which forces a change in plans.
Since we now know that President Bush borrowed $2.5 trillion dollars from China, what great or not-so-great man, woman or administration can manage that type of debt in an already sunken economy? Its like taking over a company or firm and their books show a profit of ten million dollars in a good year but they have fallen to five million a year. Your plan is to get them back up to ten million a year and more, but they conveniently neglect to inform you that they borrowed one hundred million dollars from a bank and have not begun paying it back yet. The company you THOUGHT you bought, you don’t even own and can’t begin to own until you pay back the one hundred million dollars. Your employees are looking at you in amazement that you haven’t magically made everything right over night.
There are no excuses for failure. Get it right and if you can’t get it right, then leave office and let someone else have a shot at it and if they can’t get it right, they too should leave until we find someone who knows what they are doing. This would eventually force the type of thinking we want in the White House as opposed to what has been in the White House for the last thirty or forty years. After five or six presidents step down for failure to produce via their performance evaluation with a one or two year period, you would see a quick change from special interest groups being stroked to men and women shifting their emphasis to making independent decisions uninfluenced by lobbyists, special interests, and campaign funders. The same would have to hold true for House of Reps, Senators & Supreme Court Justices where we have access to their attendance, voting records and spending records( expense accounts). We should have put this into practice decades ago. The problem is we can’t even agree on who we think has done right by us and who hasn’t. The person next in line would be their opponent who had the largest number of votes next to them (despite the party) and if that second person failed, then the person with the third highest votes would take the second person’s place and so on. This would also bring a halt to bipartisan head games because a senator who refuses everything suggested by a president of the opposing party would also face expulsion for failure to produce results and the public would be able to see those childish antics because their records would be exposed. It would force Republicans and Democrats and all others to work together for fear of their opponent taking their spot.
The blame is on the person and the administration hired to do the job and no other explanation or support is needed for that statement. The simplest form of clean up is a maid who is hired to clean up after a party. She did not throw the party. She did not attend the party. She did not create the mess and she may not have known how bad it was until she got there. No matter what, she won’t get paid if she fails to “clean house”. She has to figure out a way to clean up this awful mess left by others. Certainly the economy and unemployment is a lot more complicated but the expectation is the same. This is not a volunteer job. One does receive a salary, an expense account, and a life long eye catching resume which will launch a former president and vice president into just about any area they desire. You can head up a church, build homes for the poor, serve on boards, or enter the live speaker circuit. Either way you are set for life even if you were an unpopular politician so American citizens have every right to demand favorable results because presidents represent ALL of us, not just the people with the big bucks, power & influence. Most of us will never reach the earning power a president has. people laugh at the president’s salary, but you know what most people don’t earn that much. In addition you can probably triple or quadruple the salary based on the perks, wardrobe, grooming, presidential fleet of cars, planes, hotels stays and expense accounts.
The list of different view points is endless and we believe each one has a great deal of rational and logical thought behind it. What do you think? Join our discussion.

Yes – a really good article with many different perspectives. I wasn’t aware of the trillions of dollars Bush borrowed from China. You all are so well informed. I tend to see everybody’s point of view to some extent, but I know if I don’t perform at my job, I lose my job or worst yet most of us come from a world where even when we do produce, we still lose our jobs for political favoritism or unjust biases. You bet your bottom dollar I expect the same of any president, but unlike so many, I’m not here to pretend that these rules only apply to the current president. They apply but were never enforced with previous presidents which is frustrating. It kind of takes the wind out of the sails of the Glenn Becks and Sarah Palins because only now do they seem so motivated to go to the White House to protest or rally.
Where were they when President Bush borrowed the trillions of dollars from China?
Where was their passion when President Bush loaned eight hundred billion dollars to AIG with no ability to monitor where the eight hundred billion went?
Where were they when this economy first began taking a spill in 2006 and 2007?
Where were they when GM and many of our other giants were falling in 2005-2007?
Where was the Tea Party when we had a Vice President who was the former CEO of Halliburton and Halliburton stood to gain from a war involving America because it produces military equipment and weapons?
I can’t back a party or a movement whose motivation to suddenly become passionate is based on who is sitting in the White House as opposed to what is going on in the White House. In my opinion the last four presidents should have generated a Tea PARTY movement, but its humorous how they only surfaced now. If you think they are really concerned about socialism and Islam rule then their rally should have started the day we had knowledge to the fact that the Bush family had very close ties with the Bin Laden family for years. There was cause for a Tea Party then. Its like pulling a kid to the front of the class for cheating, but you are fully aware 90% of the class is cheating and lying. You only chose one kid to punish and expel. You let the others off and allow their grades to count. That is how I know the Tea Party is not for me. The members may have their hearts in the right place, but the leadership is trying to mask their inner hang ups and issues. Someone as “well informed” as Glenn Beck should have lost control of his emotions after reading and learning about Halliburton and the ties to the Bin Laden family, but that conveniently didn’t seem to happen during the Bush admin.
You can’t just decide to rally when there is a half black-half white president sitting in office and then try to tell everyone it has nothing to do with race when we are all staring truth in the face about the other presidents who came before him with all their dirt, filth, lies, evil connections and destruction. It doesn’t matter if its not about race because you waited till now to turn up the volume on your protesting againt acts and behavior that are common place with any president. No matter what its about, the motivation isn’t pure and we know its not pure because the ralliers failed to drag past presidents into the interrogation room for greater offenses. Its like the Clinton sex scandal or Nixon’s Watergate. Does anyone think we don’t know that 90-100% of other presidents have had their share of abusing their power politically & socially? We never called a single one of them on the carpet, but we are all suppose to fall in line like good little puppies and be angry and upset with Clinton, Nixon, and Obama for messing up while in office, having alterior motives or cheating, lying and stealing? Find me a president who doesn’t fit that bill since 1950 (when I was aware of politics).
On the other hand I have little sympathy for any president who is well compensated not getting the job done. As Americans we are very spoiled and anything less than what we had yestedrday is considered a tragedy and is frightening to say the least. We have come to expect certain things & job performance is one of those things. However, we can’t suddenly start with just one person, we have to hold past presidents accountable for their poor decisions, selfish decisions, acts etc. There should be some sort of penalty for destructive behavior that is brought to light only after someone leaves office, cabinet position, senate or whatever political office.
Yes I think we should call for his job, but while we are doing that, we need to call for the jobs of congress and anyone else who has stalled, delayed or stopped the forward progress of the presidency. That means 80 to 90% of politicians would lose their jobs. We need to do this during Republican or Democratic reigns. Do you know we would have asked 80 to 90% of all politicians to step down over the course of several adminsitrations by now? And if we don’t discover their destructive behavior until after they served, they should owe all or a portion of their salary plus expenses as penalty equal to the amount of destruction they caused or helped along.

“So voters should fire all congressional incumbents, most of whom are Democrats, right? Sure. Check the numbers.
In January 2007, when Democrats won control of the House and Senate, the nation’s unemployment rate was 4.6 percent. Since then, it has more than doubled, to 9.5 percent. It got as high as 10 percent, and hasn’t been below 9 percent since April 2009.
Using that same logic, though, voters also should fire all the incumbents in the Florida Legislature, most of whom are Republicans. In January 2007, even as the real estate bubble shrunk, Florida’s unemployment rate was 3.3 percent. Since then, it hasn’t just doubled. It hasn’t just tripled. It’s gone up to 11.4 percent.
Unlike congressional Democrats, Tallahassee Republicans can’t claim that they inherited an economy heading for the cliff. The GOP has controlled the Governor’s Mansion and Legislature for 11 years. But you can imagine the incumbents’ defense: Hey, Florida can’t escape what’s happening across the nation as we go through the toughest times in decades.
To a degree, that’s true. You also can’t expect Florida to be like North Dakota, where the jobless rate is 3.6 percent but the population of the state is half that of Palm Beach County.
Still, Colorado, like Florida, is a fast-growing state, but that state’s unemployment rate is 8 percent. Minnesota, hardly a backwater, is at 6.8 percent. Among other large states, New York and Minnesota have unemployment rates almost one-third lower than Florida’s.
This column is about perspective, which you’ll find during this election season as often as you find reason on shout TV.
In 2006 and 2008, Democrats were saying: “Look at what they’ve done. Elect us.” In 2010, Republicans are saying: “Look what they’ve done. Elect us.” Democrats didn’t have many ideas in the last two election cycles beyond that they wouldn’t do what Republicans had done. As we heard from House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio, last week in his “major” economic address, Republicans don’t have many ideas except the one they’ve used for 30 years: Cut taxes, and then cut taxes some more. Oh, and remove regulations. Like those for offshore oil wells and egg farms?
In fact, no one from either party knows how to “fix” the economy. If we knew the perfect combination of tax rates and spending levels, and monetary, regulation and trade policies, we would follow it. But for all the economists who pontificate, we don’t know. History, though, shows that if people assumed a quick recovery from the worst recession since the 1930s, they were unrealistic. So were any politicians who promised it…” http://www.palmbeachpost.com/opinion/columnists/beware-of-false-promises-on-fixing-the-economy-883722.html
“(Newser) – Americans debated the merits of fiscal stimulus a lot—in particular how big it should be. But it’s important not to lose the forest for the trees when engineering an economic recovery, David Brooks writes for the New York Times. Consider Germany, which had a much smaller stimulus and is “recovering nicely.” The US, on the other hand, “tried big, but is emerging slowly.”
That doesn’t mean that a smaller stimulus is always better, but it does show that size isn’t everything. “The economy can’t be played like a piano—press a fiscal key here and the right job creation notes come out over there. Instead, economic management is more like parenting,” writes Brooks. “If you instill good values and create a secure climate then, through some mysterious process you will never understand, things will probably end well.” And right now, Germany is doing a better job getting the fundamentals right.”

This is a good blog. Keep up all the work. I too love blogging and expressing my opinions. Thanks
Not to oversimplify, but whichever party is in control has always spent in lavish excess of what the American people can afford. Blatant waste has become the norm and only a small percentage of our taxes go to the intended target. Recovery will be painstakingly slow.
Any president who turns his back on Israel is incapable of succeeding. Any nation that turns its back on Israel is incapable of progress. We have turned our backs on Israel, publicly. Do I believe other presidents did it in sneakier ways? Yes. I believe very strongly that there are a number of smoking mirrors and Obama just happens to be caught in the middle with the light shining brightly on all of his wrong doings. Caught or not caught, he turned his back on Israel and God allows for no excuses on this subject. You don’t sit around debating anything with God ever. Because of this, I do not see how we can witness success economically, politically or socially. These are HIS chosen people and we have just spit in their face and stuck our finger in God’s PUPIL.
I agree with may other commenters under some of the other blogs about the LARGER PLAN theory. I get it. I know it to be true in my heart and I am a subscriber. I agree these leaders do not involve themselves in such “petty” matters as political parties, borders between nations or lines between faith. I think they define us as silly for doing so, but it keeps us off their back so they can weave their webs of deceit.
I agree that what other presidents did behind the curtains was no different than what Obama is doing in our face. I agree they are working toward a single unified plan and each player has his role to play on stage, while the real horrors are taking place behind the scenes, a place the audience has no access to. Right now Obama is on stage and is keeping us very busy and very preoccupied to the point we see nothing else. He is doing what he was told to do so that they can try to bring about their ultimate power and there is nothing any of us can do about it as only a minority of us recognize the scam of all scams against all of America and every other nation and its citizens.
While we’ve been sleeping, they slipped a nose ring in every Muslim’s nose, every Christian’s nose, every American’s nose, every Arab’s nose, every Asian’s nose, every South American’s nose, every Central American’s nose, every European’s nose and so on. If Muslim followers knew how they were being played just as Christians are being played, we would all crumble from shock alone.
The saddest thing of all is even as I and others write about this reality, people will continue bickering with their blinders on about the small things. They have a back stage pass to see what’s really happening, but they find more comfort in remaining seated in the audience and watching the Obama show unfold. And when we elect the next president, we will behave the exact same way. The leaders know this about us and they can count on it. We will never disappoint their condescendng calculations of us because they know we are too scared to face that kind of truth as a whole society. But that doesn’t mean I can’t fantasize about tomorrow being the day when every “little guy” in America, Arab nations, Europe, the Christian faith, the Muslim faith and every “little guy” all over the world wakes up and realizes we are being played like three hundred year old fiddles regardless of the fact it hurts like he _ _ to consider that kind of reality.

There is no easy way out. The democrats didn’t meet their goals. The republicans helped to make it impossible from the time we sold $2.5 trillion of ourselves to China during the Bush reign. The republicans are throwing parties over the failure of President Obama. The democrats were so focused on the finish line so they could be victorious over the republicans that they lost sight of HOW to get to the finish line. So here we are with the republicans wanting to take back control to fix the problems they created in the first place and you know what we are left with? We are left with having to vote for Idiot 1 or Idiot 2 so that in another two years we will be bit_hing up a storm about the results of our November 10 election and our November 08 election. So again we have a choice between
CANDIDATE 1 who is a lying, cheating whore who is being paid by our “enemy” under the table. Our “enemy” is the Muslim right now.
or we can vote for
CANDIDATE 2 who is a lying, cheating whore who is being paid by our “enemy” under the table. Our enemy flavor of the decade are the Muslims.
Its pretty much a cycle anymore. If Washington claims someone as our enemy, WE THE PEOPLE should automatically read between the lines and take that to mean we have either sold them weapons, they have sold us drugs and-or we are secretly in one another’s pockets for some reason or another and now our leaders have to PRETEND they are distancing themselves from this other nation so that you and I don’t grow suspicious.
Its like the man or woman who is ahving an office affair. They do everything in their power to speak poorly of that person in front of their co-workers in an attempt to overcompensate for their true feelings.
Where do you find normal theme for WordPress? There are enough cool themes, but sometimes complicated to set up. There are no easy fixes. However I did find a comment by another commenter that I am just going to copy past here, because I think its suitable for this blog subject. She made a lot of sense. The name of the commenter is “DOMINIQUE LEXINGTON” and I think she wrote it under the Call To Action blog or the Labor Day Blog. Not sure which one it was. Any way here it is. I hope you can post it here for her too. Its about the cost of crime and sustaining prisoners.
“Lets cut back on the prison population’s amenities. Lets cut their cable and a series of other things. How is it law abiding citizens must feel the pinch of the economy but the prisoners get their housing, clothing, three square meals, exercise, recreational time, library access, computer access and telephone access with zero worries or consideration for us and the economy. You know they also helped to get us in this mess. Crime is expensive to tax payers. Not just supporting their idiotic existence but also supporting the events surrounding the crime.
Lets think about it for a minute. Someone commits a crime. The police are called to the scene. Right there is use of telephone, 911 switchboard-dispatch, the operator, the use of the squad car, mileage, gas, and man hours. There may be ambulances and EMT man hours too if any injuries are reported. This does not include the man hours that goes into writing up the reports which can take forever.
The expense associated with booking/charging someone, taking their photo, processing, securing finger prints, filling out more forms and then providing “housing & food” for their immediate stay in jail. There are also the man hours involved in having a guard present and on duty for the temporary jail time.
Then we move on to the cost of the defense, which is usually state funded. This means you & I pay for the defense of someone who committed a crime against one of our law abiding – tax paying citizens. Isn’t that fantastic? There is the cost of the prosecution. Both sides having to prepare the case.
Now during this time the person is typically in prison and even if they are released there is the cost of the bondsman, processing, etc.
Now the preliminary hearing and then the trial. Major man hours and expenses are invested in this and again its our tax money that pays to support this prisoner (who may by the way be innocent so I don’t want to forget that because not everyone is guilty who is arrested).
Now there is sentencing which sometimes takes place in a separate trial. More money, more expenses, more of our tax money supporting crime, I mean fighting crime
Now we are in for the long haul. It may be 6months of a sentence or a life sentence. Either way these idiots are sitting back watching cable television while decent citizens are getting their electricity, phones, & cable cut off and the next step is they will be evicted or foreclosed upon. The prisoners have the most secure housing possible and never have to concern themselves with providing a roof over their head or standing in a food bank line hoping there is enough left to feed the four little mouths at home.
It would be one thing if prison was effective in changing the lives of people but its not on a large scale. There are always special cases, but more times than not, that rut becomes a permanent rut because trying to blend with members of society who don’t have a record while you do, makes you a person none of us really want working for us or having you as a guest in our home for fear of our safety.
Chances are your only choices are to return to the friends who will accept you, which tend to be other criminals or bear down and really understand that the reactions of society toward you are your issue and your fault. You created your own stigma and you have to fight through it as part of your debt to society. Most prisoners do not view it this way and never will so we end up paying another arrest, hearing, trial, prison stays and more until you die.
I’ve not even counted the cost of the crime itself. By this I mean the cost of the damage to a property, person (physically & psychologically), medical treatment, repairs, a business owner or homeowner installing security or upgrading their security, purchase of weapons for protection, cost of the loss of life if murder is involved, etc.
A single crime could run us an average of $20,000.00 for a more minor crime that carries with it a sentence of 6 months. This is a crime where the police caught the criminal/suspect on the first call to the scene of the crime and there are no injuries.
We wonder why WE don’t have jobs and why WE are living in a recession. We have to consider all variables that effect our economy. It can’t just be foreign influences, though that has a huge impact as well, but there are things we can do right here in the USA to save us money.
I didn’t include the cost of social workers and probation officers.”
Nothing interesting comes to me like this when I have to write. How do you do it? lucky you!
Power deregulation must be forced onto every state. It’s a no brainer, we offer the provision side of your electrical bill. This lowers your cost whereas your present utility firm still gives the same service. You still get one bill it simply saves you money.
The economy might be one of our least concerns as the whacked out portion of the muslims (not the normal Muslims) look for an excuse to justify another attack on our soil. I’m tired of bowing to them and I’m certain the normal Muslims feel the same way. When we are under attack divisions of faith, class, color and everything else goes out the window. If you’re willing to fight side by side with me, thats all I need to call you my brother or sister. We can both try to PEACEFULLY evangelize each other AFTER we kill our common enemy.
There is no easy fix. If there was, it would have been fixed. Or if there was, no republican is going let a democrat take the glory for succeeding so they will do all they can to hold the democrat down which is exactlyt the same thing the democrats do the republicans when they have an opportunity to improve on our society. Neither party will permit the other to succeed so perhaps the question isn’t whether or not there’s an easy fix. The question should be whether or not one child will allow the other child full access to the sandbox and all the toys and tools it has to offer. The answer to that is NO. It is for that reason there is no easy fix or hard fix to the economic problems we face and will continue facing for the next several years. No child is mature enough to sit outside the sandbox and watch the other play and hand him his Tonka truck in support of the child who has control of the sandbox.
